I'm guessing that it is because RDM readjusts the remote desktop session screen and has to refresh itself to adjust. For example: it's set for fullscreen but afterwards I want to make the window smaller but now it's Windowed with scrollbars etc. Right click on the top group and click properties, go to "display settings" enable check box for "Scale docked It worked for me. This setting will determine whether or not the client computer can scale the content on the remote computer to fit the window size of the client computer. You must enable the Group Policy controlling it. About 3 versions ago, I started having issues where my sessions wouldn't fit into my window anymore.

  Options] menu item brings up the Options Dialog. Disconnect and Logoff permissions must be granted to perform those operations.
